Coming home.....

Thank goodness its Saturday and my fiancé is on his way home from India, it's been a super boring week without him. But to make it more interesting for his flight back to Aberdeen, it has decided to start snowing..... typical!

I am of course super excited that he'll be home in the next 2hrs but even more excited to see what little gift he has bought me. I set him a challenge before he left to bring me back a gift that is truly Indian. Maybe something traditional, but not a Sari lol, that's just not me. But I guess we'll soon see what he has chosen, I promise to share it with you :-P

In other exciting news, well sort of exciting, yesterday I picked up my wedding cake samples. I decided to try out a rich chocolate cake, a zingy lemon cake and a coffee sponge with a mocca frosting. My thoughts so far.....the coffee sponge is an absolute winner, hands down, bloody lush, or gurt lush if you're from my neck of the woods lol. Just need the input of the Husband2B so we can make a decision and finally get a deposit down for what will be a stunning wedding cake, well at least we think so :-D

Its all blah.....

It is indeed all blah......my darling fiance has jetted off to India for a week on work business leaving me to fend for myself. Not enjoying this one bit. It feels a lot more lonely than I had imagined it, we haven't been apart for over a year so its definitely a little weird. I'm sure I'll manage though lol, i'm currently, in a desperate attempt to stay sane,  trying to make arrangements to keep myself busy in the evenings this week.........so far no luck, everyone is busy or skint. Boo to all of you!!! I guess instead I'll have to think of more pointless things to blog about, any ideas always welcome!!......Maybe I might start with a rant about Alternative clothing and its lack of larger sizes, its a thought.

But for now, as promised, I will post an up to date pic of my ugly mug........enjoy!! :-p

Excitement....

Being a bit of a geek I love fiddling with blogs, websites, photo shop and any other geeky programs. Right now I am in my element as I have given myself the challenge of building online forums for an awesome group of cakers. Although we have our Facebook page where we can talk about all things cake, it is a little disorganized and keeping track of posts is a nightmare. So I've taken it upon myself to create us a little haven where we can share our tips and tricks while also keeping it easy to manage. Unfortunately though just now I am having to keep it all under wraps so cannot share the page buuuuut keep tuned and it'll appear here soon :-)

Sunday, not so fun day!

Man I am tired today, a full 48hrs of gaming, drink and pizza has taken over my weekend......but I love it! If you're wondering why well this is why, I am a bit of a geek and loooove computer games, pc mainly but the occasional console game too. My OH (other half) runs a local LAN party (BreachLAN) here in Aberdeenshire which holds events 3-4 times a year. These events are basically a chance for us like minded geeks to get together in a freezing cold village hall and play computer games over a Local Area Network for a full weekend. No moaning parents, school work or a full time job to interrupt, just full on pc gaming until the wee hours. To most people it sounds like a weekend from hell but for us 30 odd people here this weekend, its pure bliss!!

And this picture is of what was our evening entertainment, Xbox Rock Band - Battle of the Bands. We were allowed to put together our own 'bands' and then got to perform our set of songs. This particular weekend consisted of about 4 or 5 different groups and was awesome fun for all. Thanks to our resident Dj, Dj Gemini we had a pretty professional set up with mics, lights and sound system to give it that extra 'gig atmosphere'

Seeing as I'm sitting here bored I thought I might add a few pics of my cake creations this year. It might give you more of an idea of how much I love to bake and what I do. I did have my own little business for a short while but due to real life commitments I decided to close it and stick with the hobby baking for friends and family.

Its only me.....

Well as the blog title suggests, Its all about me, yes me, me and my life from now until, well until I cant be arsed any more :-p
Having somewhere to rant and and just generally document random things is going to be great, at least for me anywho. I'm due to be married on 1st September 2013 so as you can imagine a lot of posts may well be wedding stress/joy related but I promise not to bore you with just that. I am a hobby baker in my spare time, when I get time away from the old folks I care for so don't be surprised to see plenty of cake related or even old people related posts.
